EVAC’s Motto? #DreamCrazy
Why #DreamCrazy?
We began our in-class meetings for change with NO formal funding or connection. Less than ONE year, we found ourselves at The White House. And it got us thinking: ANYTHING is possible. So our first class back from D.C., we asked ourselves: What would we do if ANYTHING was possible? We wrote it all down on the board, and thus was born our Dream Crazy list. What was crazy? That we immediately found ourselves checking items off. EVAC’s foundation became #DreamCrazy, by witnessing firsthand how dreams can and do come true. How? Through hard work…and the power of COMMUNITY. We invite you as our community-locally, nationally and internationally- to join us and to #DreamCrazy.
HELP US: As our community, check out our “Dream Crazy” lists to see if you can provide any connections or resources to help us make our dreams come true. If so, reach out at EVACmovement@gmail.com, email subject “Dream Crazy.”
LET US HELP YOU: Make and post your own #DreamCrazy list, tagging us @EVACmovement, so we can see what connections and resources we have to help your dreams come true too.
OUR FIRST #DREAMCRAZY ITEM CHECK-OFF: Meeting President Obama
This was the first item we were able to check-off, approximately one month after making the list. He commended us for our work, stating how proud he was of us.
FROM FAKE HARVARD FOLDERS….TO BECOMING HARVARD-PUBLISHED AUTHORS
After listing “partnership with Harvard” on our list, we decided to visiualize it, making a fake Harvard folder with a printout, gluestick and a whole lot of HOPE. A month later, our classmate was selected as 1 of 25 nationwide to be a MCC Harvard Youth Advisor. Today, we not only have a real Harvard folder, we’ve presented 4x at Harvard University and in Summer 2020 became published authors in the Harvard Review.
